 Background

For over 20 years, TAUW has collaborated with international donor organizations such as the World Bank, UNDP, UNIDO, and various NGOs. We provide high-level consultancy, policy development, and capacity building in areas such as Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), Mercury, and contaminated site remediation. From safeguarding obsolete pesticides in Africa to developing circular economy roadmaps in the Caribbean, our work takes us to the forefront of global environmental solutions.

Your Role: What you will be doing

As a Consultant, you are the link between technical complexity and practical implementation. You are not afraid to dive into unknown subjects and master them quickly. Your work involves:

  • Technical Deep-Dives: You enjoy performing literature and field research on complex environmental topics, translating these into clear project documentation.
  • Project Development & Tenders: You actively support the tender process and the setup of new international projects.
  • Stakeholder & Client Management: You act as the primary contact for our clients, maintaining relationships and ensuring project goals are met.
  • Team Coordination: You coordinate with international partners and technicians, ensuring that high-quality consultancy services are delivered.
  • Field Presence: You participate in site visits, taking ownership of the work on location and adapting to local working procedures.

 

Local Impact, Global Reach

While your focus is on our international portfolio, you will also play a pivotal role in strengthening TAUW’s presence in your stand-by country. You will engage in local projects, fostering collaborations with local stakeholders, authorities, and business partners. This ensures that you stay connected to the regional environmental challenges and allows you to apply our global expertise to local solutions, creating a synergy between international best practices and local implementation.

  • Fast Learner: You possess the unique ability to quickly master new knowledge and skills, even on topics that are new to you.
  • Technical & Social: You have a strong affinity for soil, groundwater, and hazardous waste, but you are also socially skilled and know how to transfer knowledge with enthusiasm to non-experts.
  • Education: Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Civil Engineering, or a similar relevant field.
  • Experience: 3 to 7 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Independence: You are an independent worker who is comfortable with multidisciplinary and integral projects.
  • Languages: Fluent in English. Fluency in French or Spanish is a significant advantage.
  • Adaptability: A strong willingness to travel internationally, frequently and at short notice. You are in possession of a driver’s license
